Jimmy Cheng

Jimmy Cheng is the Head of Technology Intelligence Center (TIC) at the Office of the CEO of Synopsys, where he leads the company’s emerging technology strategy to deliver insights for mid- and long-term strategic planning, innovation, and investments across a broad spectrum of silicon-to-system design solutions to enable semiconductor and system companies achieve their product ambitions.

Prior, Jimmy was the Chief of Staff at Synopsys, delivering 20%+ revenue growth on $1B+ revenue. In this role, Jimmy was responsible for strengthening and expanding Synopsys’ EDA line of business, including design signoff, physical verification, end-to-end power analysis and optimization, extraction, characterization, memory analysis, 3DIC or three-dimensional integrated circuit (IC), design robustness, AI application for chip design software business of Synopsys.

Prior to Synopsys, Jimmy has held senior management role at Oracle’s SPARC processor design division and has over 20 years of industry experience working at Sun Microsystems, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. 

Jimmy holds a MSc in ElectricalEngineering from Stanford University.
